The e-journals of the partnering publishers can be cross-searched; however, usage of the text will require a separate agreement with each publisher.

NII Repository of Electronic Journals and Online Publications (NII-REO) provides scholarly contents such as e-journals on a steady and continuous basis to educational and research institutions such as universities.
The contents contained in NII-REO are determined on the basis of consultation and contracts among NII, university library consortia, and participating publishers.

The NII-REO service provides the features listed below. (The conditions for feature availability are determined by the licensing agreements with participating publishers.)
- Local hosting of the e-resources (e-journals, e-collections, etc) provided under contract to universities etc. enables them to be accessed steadily and continuously.
- Participating publishers’ e-journal contents contained in NII-REO may be cross-searched.
- Anyone may access the bibliographic information or abstracts of the contents in the e-journal archives; however, access to the text will require a separate agreement with each publisher.
